Planting the Seeds Through Youth

Monday, November 19th, 2007

As a part of the youth from the “quad” cities, I have found difficulty in getting the youth to be more active in seeing and being active in the future of our area. As a “quad”, I believe the Prairie has amazing potential and through Horizons, I see the youth are beginning to see the vision planted and that is slowly but growing into something that has amazing potential! After the visioning rally and launch, many groups that are listed on the blog have blossomed and are going ahead at full force to make the best better. I think that as apart of an upcoming generation, as many youth should make their voice heard to help with the growing and “pruning” of the quad cities to make it a place they will want to come back to and see the amazing work done by their generation and other generations ahead of us. I feel blessed to be able to be a part of the Horizons program and see the great results that have come so far into our community and see the effects of positive attitudes and how a little seed of hope can turn into a blossoming flower.
